Programmes of the Euphonia Festival in Egység and Svilara


Within the fifth International Festival of Accordion and Chamber Music, the audience will have a chance to follow concerts that will be held in the Svilara and Egység Cultural Stations on 16 and 19 December online, via Facebook page of the Euphonia Festival.

The ‘Lazar Novkov & Frame Orchestra’ World Music Ensemble will perform for the first time in the Svilara Cultural Station on 16 December. The famous Novi Sad ensemble that emerged out of the principles of classical music, will present their ‘Ka – Ka’ (Chamber – Café) genre featured in the copyright music by Lazar Novkov, frontman of the ensemble. The Euphonia Festival wants to make a step forward with other genres, present and unify all music colours of the accordion with this concert.

The concert starts at 8 p.m. and it will be available online on the Facebook page of the festival.

According to organisers, the most important concert entitled ‘New Serbian Music for Accordion’ will be held during the gala closing of the festival in the Egység Cultural Station on 19 December. This form of concert has been held for 5 years and it presents the part of a bigger project by the Euphonia Association of Citizens, which encourages development of local artistic literature for the accordion. Three local composers selected within the previously organised call, will perform their works for the first time within the concert in Egység. Miloš Milivojević (United Kingdom) and Miloš Katanić (Serbia) will play the accordion solo, under the baton of Milica Jevtić.

The Euphonia International Festival of Accordion and Chamber Music lasts from 11 until 19 December and comprises concerts, a course, and a lecture. Due to the unfavourable pandemic situation, the festival will be held without a competition part.

The Euphonia Festival has been organised by the Euphonia Association of Citizens for five years, with the idea to create a space for continuous promotion of young artists who play the accordion and introducing the importance of Serbian school of the artistic accordion in Europe. The festival is unique in our country due to its programme concept and it has a goal to become the leading manifestation of this type in Europe, by promoting the city of Novi Sad as the city of the accordion.
